Crypsis

Created in my second year of university, Crypsis portrays a young woman struggling to conceal a large, live octopus living atop her head, which she hides underneath a hat when she goes out in public. It is only once she returns home that she is able to unleash the creature and be fully herself.

This film was inspired by experiences relating to social anxiety and a desire to depict these emotions through visual metaphor.

The film is entirely 2D animated in Clip Studio Paint.
